Mariellen was “born and raised” Lutheran in a small town called Summit, outside of Puyallup, WA. She moved to Portland, OR, after college and later established herself in SW WA. Mariellen was searching for a Lutheran church in the area to raise her children in the faith. She came across Beautiful Savior in 1988 and quickly integrated herself into its many offerings.
In 1993, she became the Church Administrator and served in that capacity until the end of 2022. Mariellen has a part-time job where she works remotely, and is grateful to be back at BSLC as a support person during BSLC’s transition (and maybe beyond).
Mariellen is a lover of all things horses and is an accomplished Equestrian specializing in all-around events. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and is on a quest to grow a 2.5 lb tomato (her record is 2 lbs 2 ¾ oz). She loves spending time with her husband Bob, her adult children, and her seven grandchildren.
